Astrid Van den Bosch, (1965) is a Belgian Artist.

She was born in Deurne near Antwerp.

She began her artistic career when she was already in her fourties, however she painted for her own pleasure during her entire lifetime.  Astrid paints “independently” and is completely self-taught.

She creates mostly abstract acrylic paintings mixed with different media  to create depth, feeling and emotion. She has a strong and natural  feeling of using colours in her work.

In some of her paintings she creates a dense, subtle and slowly mixture of overlapping  colours and shapes.

Her work is often inspired by nature and by the spiritual laws of the universe.

About herself

It is not possible to create a painting without descending into one’s self and posing essential questions. Starting a new canvas is always a challenge. It never ends the way I started it in my head.

Layer by layer, I get more inspiration and it becomes more my own creation. Especially the colours need to feel good. They have to express the way I feel and in which mood I am , which can be the complete opposite.

My work is often inspired by the 7 natural laws of the universe. If you know how they work,  it can make a significant difference in applying them to create the life you truly desire !

“You are what your deep, driving desire is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny." - Brihadaranyaka Upanished
